Granular fertilizers are dry and typically come in pellets. Slow-release fertilizers gradually release nutrients to the grass over a long period.
This liquid application controls broadleaf weeds like dandelions, yellow nutsedge, clover, creeping Charlie and up to 50 other weeds.
Core aeration is the removal of small plugs of thatch and soil from a lawn to improve the process of air exchange between the soil and the atmosphere.
My 5-step program is more complete than most companies 7 or 8 steps. I do more at each treatment and only use high quality, slow release organic granular fertilizer that I have custom blended for our customers lawns specific needs. This means you get a better lawn with less visits, saving you time and money. I also feature custom-tailored treatments to your lawn.
Spring Visit (Late March - Early April)
My first round of the year provides an early spring green-up and ensures root growth and recovery from winter stresses. This visit will promote a thick healthy lawn which is crucial to fight against the start of weeds and crabgrass. This round contains a pre-emergent that prevents new weed seed germination. The crabgrass preventer I use is custom blended to meet the high standards my customers expect.
Early Summer Visit (May/June)
For my second treatment I apply a liquid broadleaf herbicide for weeds such as dandelions, chickweed, creeping charlie and spurge. This treatment will eliminate those pesky winter weeds that have germinated.
Summer Visit (June/July)
My third round consists of a summer organic fertilizer which will maintain the color of your lawn and strengthen the roots of the grass. I will continue to treat visible weeds and scout for insect activity, such as grubs, chinch bugs, sod webworms and mole crickets. I will suggest an option for treatment for insects if needed.
Late Summer Visit early fall (August/September)
The fourth round I will apply a liquid broadleaf weed control. Early fall is the best time of the year to get rid of weeds, so I spray the entire lawn at this treatment. Insect control is applied as needed.
Fall Visit (September-October)
The fifth round I apply a heavy rate of winterized organic fertilizer. My slow-release dry granular fertilizer is different from others. It contains more micro-nutrients and nitrogen that will last in the soil for a year or more. This treatment encourages root growth, but it also replenishes nutrients in the soil that will last the entire next year.
